Loving and Dreaming....a splendid pair

ABOUT THIS POEM:
The very first line of this poem came to me while I was
thinking about another poem titled "Inside Her Eyes"
for which I have yet to put on this site. The first line
of this poem just popped into my head and I took it
from there.
Also to add to this, I wrote a poem in 1993 titled
"As She Lays Sleep" which deals with this same
subject. That poem I have to admit is an OK poem
but I do not think it is good enough to put on this
site. (It was only the second poem I ever wrote).
And lastly, I want to dedicate this poem to my good
friend, Talma Xavier of Recife, Brazil. For without her
inspiration, this poem would still be a rough draft. I
sent her the first three verses of this poem and she
loved them. So I told her I would "give" this poem to
her. Mucho Gracias' Talma!
A dream so deep, is where you now abide
As you lay softly sleeping by my side
In a land filled with enchantment, is where you now exist
For you heard the call of sleep, and could not resist
I gaze fondly at you as you sleep
And ask myself "What dreams do you keep?"
For I long to be with you in that magical land
As together we face your dreams, hand in hand
To fly with you distances great and far
To glide with you through the stars
To help calm you from what you fear
To share with you what you hold dear
To plan with you your highest goal
To be the thief with you, as time we stole
To keep you safe and out of harm's way
To tell you things I have always wanted to say
When the morning light comes and you wake from your dream
Back from a place where things are not as they seem
You turn to me with eyes so misty
And say "Thank you Honey for being in there with me"
